Job/Internship/Requirements
For students in the final year of their career, we provide internship in areas related to environmental studies. The main aim of intership shall be to get familiarity with the industry through an assignment that helps the students to earn a better job. The duration of internship shall be normally for a period of one month and shall not exceed two full months in any case.
The focus areas for internship shall be mainly dependent on the interest of the intern, and wherever feasible necessary technical support shall be provided by our staff for completing the assignment.
All interns shall be recommended by their institution and they shall submit a copy of the report of their studies (one hard copy alongwith a softcopy) to our organization at the end of their assignment. In cases where the intern is getting technical support, it should be properly acknowledged in the final report.
There shall be no financial assistance for the internship.

1) Position: Environmental Scientist:
Environment With People's Involvement & Co-ordination in India (EPIC In India) invites applications for the position of Environmental Scientist from candidates with 1-2 years experience in the field of Environmental Management, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Process Design for Common Effluent Treatment Plants, especially in the textile dyeing/bleaching sector, and in the preparation of project reports and proposals, with good knowledge/exposure to basic chemistry and industrial waste water treatment, pollution abatement strategies, Cleaner Production, and other relevant areas.
Vacancies: The expected number of vacancies is four. However, total number of positions is subject to change, depending on the prevailing demand at the time of selection.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Doctoral/Master's Degree in one of the following or, relevant areas:
Chemistry/Applied
Chemistry/Environmental Chemistry
Earth Science/Hydrology/Environmental Science/Engineering/Management
Biochemistry/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Ecology
Desirable Qualifications:
Basic knowledge in mathematics as applied to environmental problems, good experience with statistical data analytical procedures, exposure to waste water analytical procedures, environmental standards and environmental laws, application of computers in environmental sciences (especially for process design and modelling, ecological modelling, water chemistry, study of fate of pollutants, pollutant transport and remediation).
All candidates should be self-motivated, hardworking and independently able to handle projects. Field work may be necessary depending on the assignment.
Salary:
The salary will be based on candidate's educational qualification, experience, and ability to apply logical reasoning and basic science and technical knowledge to solve practical problems relevant to effluent treatment.

3) Position: Computer Programmer/Information Officer:
Environment With People's Involvement & Co-ordination in India (EPIC In India) invites applications for the position of Information Officer from candidates with 1-2 years experience in application of information technology for scientific research and other related social issues.
The work is interdisciplinary, and the applicant should be well aware of environmental issues with good knowledge/exposure to basic chemistry and industrial waste water treatment, pollution abatement strategies, Cleaner Production, and other relevant areas.

Educational Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Master's/Bachelor's Degree in one of the following or, relevant areas:
Computer Science/Engineering
Information Technology
Electronics & Communication Engineering
with sufficient exposure to environmental issues or,
Chemistry/Applied
Chemistry/Environmental Chemistry
Earth Science/Hydrology/Environmental Science/Engineering/Management
Biochemistry/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Ecology
with a certificate and/or experience in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), Programming languages (preferably in Java and C/C#), and Geographical Information System (GIS).
The applicant should also have exposure to project management tools, web design tools, financial analysis softwares, spreadsheets, and environmental modelling packages.
Desirable Qualifications:
Basic knowledge in environmental issues, pollution management strategies, recent technological advances in pollution control equipments, basic operating principles of the equipments, intefacing equipments with computers, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), exposure to accountancy, econometrics, linear programming, process optimization, statistics, environmental standards and environmental laws, ability to independently develop applications for environmental environmental monitoring and modelling.
